Brian Nathan Addresses Lawsuit Challenging DeSantis’ Delay on Special Election

In response to the lawsuit filed today by the ACLU of Florida urging Governor DeSantis to call a special election for Senate District 14, Democratic candidate Brian Nathan released the following statement:

“I welcome today’s action and stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Senate District 14 who deserve a voice in Tallahassee. Our communities cannot afford to go another legislative session without full representation. The issues facing Florida families, including rising costs, access to healthcare, and the need for good paying jobs, are too urgent to be ignored.

The Governor’s inaction has left hundreds of thousands of Floridians without a seat at the table. This is not about politics. It is about democracy. The residents of District 14 deserve what every Floridian deserves: a Senator fighting for them when critical decisions are being made.

I urge Governor DeSantis to comply immediately and call this election without delay. The people of this district are ready to make their voices heard, and I am ready to serve.”

Nathan, a Navy veteran and union leader, is running to restore accountability and ensure that the needs of working families are prioritized in Florida’s State Senate.
